How We Work

Phase I

Our initial engagements with early stage companies usually begin with 'Phase I' where we work on a project basis to get companies ready for sophisticated Venture financing and/or customer acquisition by helping them develop their market entry & customer acquisition strategies, business model, business plan, investor presentation, and financing strategy. In this phase we work intensively for 1-2 months preparing the company to make the most of the opportunity presented by the technology and the market, and preparing the company for growth.

We work with the executive team to outline the scope, timing and cost of this project. Phase 1 is paid partially in cash (some upfront, some at the completion of the project) AND some equity. We don't broker deals, make introductions to investors on a contingent fee, simply edit or advise, or do small projects. We are entrepreneurs who take operational roles and therefore take on the operational responsibility for preparing company strategy, documents and presentations closing customer and investor deals and any other activity directed by the CEO. Here, we help prepare the founding teams to run their company, raise top tier money and close paying customers. Phase II

After building a company's plan in Phase I, we work with a small number of founding teams as a part time member of their executive staff to help them execute. Overall, our mission is to take operational roles (Tony Medrano (tony@seedenterprise.com): COO, VP of BusDev/CorpDev; Lina Ramos-Holm (lina@emergingenterprise.com): CMO, VP of Strategic Alliances) in support of a company's founders and/or CEO. Our goal is to 'extend the life' of the current CEO/founder through the timely completion of essential milestones such as venture financing and initial revenue generation by providing them the benefits of our experience as founders and leaders of venture backed technology companies without 'taking over' (as most experienced CEO's would) or 'hanging on' when roles evolve (as many consultants and initial start-up executives do). Phase II is paid for with cash & stock on an hourly basis.
